[She knew about those intense negative emotions turning people into--or rather, revealing--what they truly are. For some, the change can be much more obvious, much more physical, taking on appropriately henious characteristics. For others...not so much. Like her. She didn't change physically when torturing him, but she certainly did reveal her 'true colors' to him, as someone less than human, when the all she wanted was vengence.
