As stated before, my main concern is mysteries. However, if there was anything that would threaten these humans, I would be willing to protect them.

They are more precious to me than I let on, rest assured. [He's talking about no humans = no mysteries. And he doesn't like that.]

Hopefully that is a good enough reason. If not... then I don't know what else to tell you.

....Hoh. That's truly an interesting question. I enjoy torturing criminals myself, so I can see the appeal in that aspect.

I wasn't proud of what went on either, so perhaps I would have. Not as a human though, I suppose that would still have to be tricked. I wouldn't walk into that willingly.

They were not so much as people to him as they are things for him to feed on--this is what she believed he thought of her as, by refusing to tell him what she is or does.] No...I supposeyou are not.[She agrees with him on that now, at least; however--she is, or at least this support such a label, for she would force him go through with it.]

Also, I'll tell you this as well. There are certain... mysteries that aren't interesting enough to me even in this world, and I turn away from them. Just the other day a woman came in here asking for Yako to solve a case about her husband being murdered.

...It wasn't a good enough puzzle to even waste my energy on. If she would have asked the police again, I'm sure they would have found that overlooked clue.

What she cares about is that he's told her he would find out about hers; that she's not a person, but more like..a frozen meal he's saved for a later date.] I would not show

See? ...However I grow careless sometimes, and I waste a tool here or there. I can't help it, seeing certain people writhe in pain can be pretty satisfying.

Let me make this clear to you... I've dropped this mystery of yours, I won't be solving it. It's not as interesting as I had initially figured. It's true that mysteries are how I survive, but I have other more interesting ones before me in this world.

This is one of those times where you should really take me seriously. I don't like to repeat myself.
